Eversolo built its name on streamers and DACs. The AMP-F8 gives them a dedicated power stage to drive: a Class AB power amplifier with 180 W per channel, 500 W when bridged, and two analogue VU meters that move with the music.
It was unveiled at High End Vienna in June and pre-orders have since opened at European retailers, with a UK launch to follow. It's built to sit under the Eversolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 in size and styling, but its balanced XLR and RCA inputs mean any preamp, DAC or AV receiver with a pre-out can drive it.
Introduction
The pitch is simple: let the streamer handle sources and volume, and give the speakers a dedicated power stage. In stereo the AMP-F8 delivers 180 W into 8 Ω and 280 W into 4 Ω. Bridge the two channels and it becomes a 500 W mono amplifier into 8 Ω, which is where a pair of them for large floorstanders starts to make sense.
Behind that figure sits a custom 800 W toroidal linear power supply, 24 audio-grade filter capacitors and three matched MOSFET pairs per channel. Eversolo says the aim is a "greater sense of scale, while helping bass remain firm, elastic and controlled", and the damping factor above 400 is the number that backs that up on paper.
Key Features & Benefits
- Power that scales with the room. 180 W / 280 W in stereo, 500 W bridged, so it isn't fussy about speaker impedance.
- A quiet background. THD+N of 0.003% and a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 115 dB keep low-level detail audible.
- Balanced or single-ended. One XLR and one RCA input, with selectable 23 dB or 29 dB gain for matching a preamp's output.
- DC blocking on the mains side. An integrated circuit protects the toroidal transformer from DC offset, which cuts mechanical hum and noise.
- VU meters you can read from the sofa. Real analogue needles behind a CNC-machined aluminium front, finished in sandblasted anodised black.

Who It's For
Get it if you're building (or upgrading) a separates system, already own a preamp or a streamer with a good analogue output, and run speakers that like current. It's also a natural partner for the DMP-A8 Gen 2 in a matching stack.
Look elsewhere if you want one box with inputs, volume and streaming built in. The AMP-F8 has no digital inputs and no volume control of its own, so it needs a preamp in front of it. It's also a 15.9 kg, 388 mm deep chassis, so check your shelf first.

Final Thoughts
Power amps are an easy upgrade to overlook, and a good one often does more for a system than another round of source tweaks. The AMP-F8 gives Eversolo owners the missing piece, and gives everyone else a solid, good-looking power stage at €1,799. Specs and launch details are from Eversolo and What Hi-Fi?.
